The new National Sports Center in Prostějov will serve especially for volleyball players, basketball players, tennis players, ice hockey players or footballers. A building worth more than 130 million CZK grew for about two years and was officially opened on Thursday 13 September.
In addition to the spacious playing area, the modern sports hall also boasts great facilities for athletes and a stand for 340 spectators. In addition, the capacity of the auditorium can be expanded by a folding mobile stand. The National Sports Center has the necessary certifications as well, so it is possible to play extra-league matches there.
The hall will serve not only for various sports clubs but will also be occupied in the morning by the schools of Prostějov. The people from Prostějov hope to get in particular more comfortable and intensive education of young and promising athletes. However, the Opening Ceremony was attended by, among other sports stars, the native of Prostějov, a member of the local club and the winner of the Davis Cup, Tomáš Berdych.
