Last week, announcements of two major construction competitions results took place. On October 18, the award ceremony of the 29th unique and prestigious nationwide competition show called Building of the Year 2021 took place in the Bethlehem Chapel in Prague. Two days later, on October 20, the results of the 2020 South Moravian Region Building competition were announced in the representative premises at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Brno University of Technology. To our great joy, we received precious awards in both of these competitions.
The Complex Simulation Center of Masaryk University in Brno was shortlisted in the prestigious Building of the Year 2021 competition. The revitalization of the Upper Vimperk Chateau also received a great response in the audience vote and both constructions received special awards. The Complex Simulation Center of Masaryk University in Brno received the President of the Czech Republic Chamber of Deputies Award and the extensive repairs of the Upper Vimperk Chateau (Winterberg) called “Waking up the winter chateau” received the National Heritage Institute Award. In this competition, a total of 10 titles “Building of the Year 2021”, 25 special awards, 2 public awards and one title for a construction abroad were awarded by an expert panel this year.
The announcement of the 2020 Building of the South Moravian Region competition results brought two beautiful first places for constructions carried out by the company OHLA ŽS in a joint venture. The Complex Simulation Center of Masaryk University in Brno won first place in the category of Buildings of Civic Facilities, and the Reconstruction and completion of the Bakeš Pavilion in Brno won first place in the category of Reconstruction of buildings.
